Mammoth - Duck Creek Village UT

🌲 Mammoth Creek – Duck Creek Village, Utah

Located on State Route 50 approximately 10 miles North of Duck Creek Village, Mammoth Creek is one of the most scenic mountain streams on the Markagunt Plateau. Flowing through lush meadows, dense forests, and volcanic landscapes, the creek offers visitors a peaceful escape and a chance to experience the natural beauty that makes the Duck Creek area so special.

The creek is also home to the Mammoth Creek community, a small unincorporated community of homes and cabins located along the creek and throughout the surrounding valley. This close connection between the community and the creek has helped preserve the area's quiet mountain character for generations.

The creek originates from numerous springs and snowmelt-fed tributaries throughout the high elevations of Cedar Mountain before flowing south through Mammoth Valley. Along its journey, Mammoth Creek winds through forests of pine, spruce, fir, and aspen, creating excellent habitat for wildlife and outstanding recreation opportunities.

Known for its crystal-clear water and picturesque surroundings, Mammoth Creek is a favorite destination for anglers, hikers, photographers, and wildlife enthusiasts. The creek's meandering course through open meadows and forested canyons provides countless opportunities to explore and enjoy the beauty of Southern Utah's high country.

As Mammoth Creek continues downstream, it eventually joins Assay Creek before becoming part of the Sevier River watershed, which ultimately flows north through central Utah.
